Human Rights Policy


1. Introduction

Ava Global Logistics Limited, Ava Global DMCC, Ava USA Inc, and Ava Germany GmbH, hereafter referred to as “Ava” has developed this policy to provide guidance to its employees and Suppliers/Partners regarding their Human Rights responsibilities.


2. Scope

This policy is applicable to all Ava’s employees including those of its Suppliers/Partners.


3. Definitions

A Human Right is a right to which all human beings are entitled. These rights are internationally defined and recognised and identified in international conventions. For the purpose of implementing this policy, a Human Right shall be recognised by the International Bill of Human Rights or as otherwise described in this policy.


4. Policy Requirements

Ava recognises its corporate responsibility to respect Human Rights and provides for a working and living environment which is free from harassment or discrimination on the grounds listed below:
• Employment – every employee has a right to equal treatment, development of potential and career
advancement without discrimination relating to race, origin, colour, citizenship, religion, sex and sexual orientation, age, marital or family status, and disability.
• Slavery & Bonded Labour – Neither Ava nor its Suppliers/Partners supports the act of slavery or bonded employment. Every employee has the right to leave employment once notice has been provided.
• Underage / child labour – Neither Ava nor its Suppliers/Partners supports the employment of
underaged / child labour. Adequate screening is in place to ensure both permanent and temporary workers are legally employed.
• Minimum Wage – Ava and its Supplier/Partners ensure that employees are paid on an agreed basis (whether weekly or monthly) as per the legal minimum wage rates without unauthorised
deductions.
• Working hours - Neither Ava nor its Suppliers/Partners supports or mandate that employees perform extended hours of work. Where required, employees are compensated in line with legal overtime rates of pay.
• Labour unions – Ava and its Suppliers/Partners recognise the right of employees to join or refrain from joining legally authorised association or organisation that respect the safety and health of its workers.
• Harassment and bullying of any kind – in recognizing every person’s right to equal treatment, Ava’s
employees must not:
Attempt to or exert inappropriate influence on others or behave in a manner that may be perceived as intimidating or threatening.
Influence outcomes with threats, bribes or inducement
Behave in an abusive way towards others which could include spreading of rumors, swearing, insulting, making physical threats, unwanted sexual attention, assaulting someone etc.
• Discrimination – Neither Ava nor its Suppliers/Partners supports discrimination of any kind related to race, origin, colour, citizenship, religion, sex and sexual orientation, age, marital or family status, and disability.
All employees shall respect the dignity and rights of others.


5. Implementation

• Training on Ava’s Human Right policy will be provided to new employees as part of the induction process and circulated/shared with existing employees.
• Ava will strive to conduct reasonable Human Rights due diligence on Suppliers/Partners as part of its annual audit process. Ava will continuously deem to employ reasonable measures to uphold Human Rights of its employees and those of its Suppliers/Partners.
• Ava will require its Suppliers/Partners to comply with this Policy and will continuously engage with its stakeholders to identify, discuss and address Human Rights concerns.
• Any employee implicated in Human Rights Violation may face serious criminal proceedings and termination.
• Any Supplier/Partner implicated in Human Rights Violation or serious criminal act will be expected to take appropriate remedial action and may have their contract reevaluated or terminated.
